Energy Star and Green System-Built Production

All of our system-built products, modular homes and additions and sunroom additions, are Energy Star rated and well up the "green" scale. All of this is FREE and a consequence of the system-built process.

Modular homes must travel over the road. As a consequence, the structures are built tighter and stronger. They must also meet the criteria of third-party inspectors to be approved and accepted locally. Further, the factory assembly approach has less waste, greater control over materials, and higher insulation factors. Modular structures are easily Energy Star rated as they leave the factory and can be Green/ LEED rated with simple implementation in the field.

  • Total waste-disposal costs average $960 a house. That's roughly equivalent to the hauling and dump charge for a ton of waste. The typical residential project produces three to four times that amount.
  • In terms of indoor-air quality, modular homes are arguably healthier because the home is framed, insulated, sheet-rocked and wrapped indoors.
  • Our product is formaldehyde-free including all adhesives and insulation for the safety of their employees and the benefit of future homeowners.
  • Lumber and other building materials are stored in warehouses and often, due to production volume, used within days of their arrival. Therefore, moisture and humidity have little opportunity to adversely affect the structure.
  • Homes are all double coat primed, before delivery, which gives any VOCs time to dissipate before the dwelling is occupied. VOCs are organic chemical compounds such as formaldehyde that evaporate from solvents, industrial wastes and other materials.
  • Comfort systems and building envelope: 2-by-6 construction, low-e (low-emissivity) and argon filled windows, increased insulation, house wrap, radiant barrier sheathing, air sealing and other upgrades to improve the home's performance.
  • Cellulous insulation, as opposed to fiberglass insulation, is totally recycled materials and provides a higher insulation value.
  • Installers (Sandcastle) foam seals all openings on site.
