Sandcastle Group's founders, Paul and Francine Townsend, are best known for winning the National Builder of the Year award in 1985 for Spinnaker Island & Yacht Club in Hull, MA. This was a cutting edge real estate development that included the first of its kind deeded marina slips along with oceanside condominiums. They also designed, permitted, and built Sandcastle Condominium which was the first project of its kind in Hull.
They are widely respected for this kind of innovative approach to business ventures and believe that, once again, they have discovered an underserved demographic with their attention to turn-key project management for the busy homeowner.
In 1985, they were also responsible for establishing a trio of saviors for the famous Paragon Park Carousel. After renovating, moving and operating it as "Carousel Under the Clock," it was transferred to a local non-profit that could guarantee its future existence in the community.
They have been in business since 1981 and are active in real estate, building, and development as well as many philanthropic and civic activities.

Paul Townsend: Earned a Bachelors degree from Northeastern in Mechanical Engineering, received the Pt Tau Sigma award for engineering excellence, Masters degree from The Catholic University of America in Architecture and Materials Science while working at the National Bureau of Standards in Washington D.C., and a PHD level degree in materials engineering from MIT (right across the river from Northeastern!). Mr. Townsend has written and presented over 40 professional articles on materials science, real estate and construction. He is also President and CEO of the Sandcastle Group.
Pablo Saucedo: Came to us from The Boston Architectural Collage. Mr. Saucedo was recently named as one of the 30 most influential people in the System-built industry under 40 years old because of his knowledge in all aspects of successful system-built design, planning and construction. He has designed hundreds of homes and additions working directly with clients and understands the needs, budgets and lifestyles of all the people he works with. Pablo is now the Director of Operations at Sandcastle.
John Townsend: Received his Bachelors Degree from The Catholic University of America and spent the next 9 years with Trammell Crowe, one of the largest real estate development, management and construction companies in the world. John managed projects from CVS specialty stores to university dormitories to commercial tenant office and lab space construction. Mr. Townsend is the Production Manager at Sandcastle and is charge of project feasibility, permitting, planning and construction.
Ellen Virtue: Recently received her Masters in Business Administration. Ellen works closely with our suppliers and clients to manage and control all financial matters related to our projects. Ms Virtue has attended and participated in many regional and national home builder peer groups, seminars and conventions. Ms Virtue is the Comptroller at Sandcastle and is expert in financing new homes and additions.
